Software Engineer/Technical Lead

Kevala is looking for software engineers and data scientists with sharp skills in their technical area of expertise. The position is based out of our San Francisco, CA headquarters, however, other locations will be considered.

Responsibilities And Duties

In addition to writing software and documentation, the successful candidate will serve as a technical lead by mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and problem solving on more complex projects. At present, we have teams focused on data engineering, data science, and application development, and intend to continue to grow. The successful candidate’s team placement and level will vary depending on that candidate’s unique qualifications.

Qualifications And Skills

We require 4+ years experience in engineering, and value any of the following areas of expertise:

• Python: pandas, NumPy, tensorflow
• Data pipelines: Airflow, Docker
• Databases: PostGIS, InfluxDB
• Rest APIs: Django 3, Django REST framework
• Cloud Services: GCP, AWS, Heroku
• Javascript and web development: Svelte/Polymer/React, leaflet, plotly

Preference will be given to candidates with a record of empathetic and growth-oriented leadership, and/or with experience in the utility, clean energy, regulatory, or automotive industry.
