Summary

The Save the Children Business and Technology Solutions (BTS) User Experience Product Manager is responsible for defining the User Experience for products and offerings, collaborating with other Product Managers and User Experience resources. The User Experience Product Manager is part strategist, part researcher, part business designer, who leads through design thinking and champions the user experience. You will have experience leading teams from problem definition through delivery and is driven by discovery to find patterns, deconstructing large challenges and communicating persuasively

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Driving experience strategy for product offerings

  • Proactive identification of opportunities within the organization to enhance or transform processes for stakeholders
  • Partner with technology and business counterparts in the organization to influence product roadmaps to deliver increasing long term value for stakeholders
  • Define the overall strategy for UI/UX, the roadmap, and business plan to achieve an experience for users

Collaboration with Save the Children departments

  • Work with partners in Save the Children departments to define and create story boards and user journey maps
  • Understand and address usability issues
  • Unify the user experience to eliminate fragmentation
  • Lead user experience demos and playbacks, integrating feedback from stakeholders and users

Human-centered design capabilities

  • Develop and own user experience journey maps, user flows, and other experience strategy artifacts
  • Lead user experience research efforts for a specific stakeholder audience
  • Collaborate across SCUS and the Save the Children movement to promote common practices and share user experience insights

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in human-centered design
  • Proven ability to facilitate and deploy various user research methods from planning through execution, for both generative and evaluative user research
  • Proven experience in creating user experience artifacts such as personas, user journey maps, and user experience flows
  • Demonstrated experience leading user experience teams through the design process
  • Proven ability to respond to various stakeholder needs and simplify complex problems through a compelling narrative
  • Proven experience successfully delivering across multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate strategically and successfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and work through organizational change, both internal and external
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in agile product management
  • Experience in Accelerating Delivery & Improvement (ADI) methodology
  • Experience in the nonprofit space
