About Us
Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country’s top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into more subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
Our Products Include:
- AoPS Online is our original online education experience that provides a unique learning experience carefully designed for outstanding students studying online since 2003. Using our unique online classroom to facilitate interactive discussion, AoPS Online offers rigorous, high-quality math curriculum and online classes for middle and high school students, introductory programming courses, and specialty courses to prepare students for particular math and science competitions. - AoPS Academy is a family of brick and mortar after-school learning centers for strong math and language arts students in grades 2-12. The AoPS Academy curriculum is carefully designed to prepare students for the rigors of advanced university classes and highly competitive careers. In both our math and language arts classes, we stress both the fundamentals and extending those fundamentals to advanced applications. Students develop a deep understanding of new concepts, and learn how to use them in complex situations. In 2020, AoPS Academy also launched a Virtual Campus to bring our classes to more students than ever before!
- Beast Academy is a complete math curriculum that incorporates engaging, comic-book style characters designed to help students ages 8‑13 deepen their understanding of math and learn problem-solving skills. The Beast Academy illustrated book series is used in all of our AoPS Academy classes and are also directly available for students. A subscription to BA Online gives students access to a web-based, self-paced platform that includes games, problems, and puzzles divided into chapters and units that follow the same sequence found in the book series.
