About Us
We're working on creating an alternative type of AI. One that is deeply rooted in neuroscience research on how our brain works (specifically the neocortex). We are building the first platform (called Monty) based on those principals of the brain. Monty is many orders of magnitude more compute efficient than transformers (measured in FLOPs), requires very little data to train, can do continual learning, generalizes to out of distribution data, and can use it's learned models to interact intelligently with the world. This new approach can not only cut the extreme power and data consumption of current AI approaches but also enable a whole range of novel applications. All our code is open-source under an MIT license and associated patents are under a non-assert pledge to ensure anyone can use this technology. We are building an active open-source community around the project and do our research in the open (including publishing all our research meetings on YouTube).
