Join Mazarine and partners for our first annual symposium dedicated to technology innovations that address the climate adaptation needs of agriculture, industry, and cities.

Background: While innovations in renewables, batteries, mobility, carbon sequestration, and the long-tail of 'NetZero' solutions will continue to receive investment, a not so sublte inflection is happening amongst investors who recognize a growing need to invest in technology innovations that mitigate risks associated with a warmer planet. Most of these risks are unsurprisingly water-related.

Water Uncertainty?: Too much or too little water (a quantity risk), or water compromised due to a warmer atmosphere (a quality risk) are becoming existential issues for agriculture, aquaculture, heavy and light industry, minerals processing, real estate owners, and cities. Underlying climate-induced water risks in these sectors are the risks faced by finance and insurance. We are clearly way beyond the so-called 'water industry' and in the realm where water is a risk.

Climate Adaptation Tech refers to innovations that offer owners or operators of assets: 1) improved visibility into near-future water-related risks, 2) the ability to monitor water quality or quantity changes in real-time or near time, and 3) the hardware, engineering, or infrastructure needed to mitigate climate-induced water-related risks.

Program Format: As an invite-only, in-person event, this program includes a mix of panel discussions, executive interviews, and presentations by 15 early-stage technoogy companies with data science, IOT, or hardware/engineering solutions for mitigating their customer's climate adaptation risks.

Adaptation or Resilience? Adaptation refers to those crucial actions or plans that a business or community will employ against a current or anticipated impact of climate change, whilst Resilience refers to the ability to recover (bounce back to the original state before the exposure to shock) from the effect of climate change.
