The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is hosting a two-day virtual workshop titled Transforming Hypertension Diagnosis and Management in the Era of Artificial Intelligence on Wednesday, March 29th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and Thursday, March 30th, 2023, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time.
Despite everything we know about the treatment and prevention of hypertension, blood pressure control remains a significant health problem in the U.S. and globally. The diagnosis and management of hypertension rely on an accurate blood pressure measurement are based on periodic measurements versus frequent or continuous monitoring throughout the day and night. This workshop will explore the development of state-of-the-art technology and data integration/harmonization strategies for improving current approaches for detecting, monitoring, and managing hypertension, considering racial and ethnic disparities, that will demonstrate different phenotypes to inform treatment modalities. This workshop will also attempt to address and improve diagnostic uncertainty in clinical decisions with a technology-agnostic method by improving sensitivity and specificity using analytic strategies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Workshop Objectives:
Workshop Dates:
There are four (4) sessions over the two (2) days, each session containing 4-6 individual talks.
The workshop is free and will be recorded. Zoom access details will be emailed to the registrant one (1) day in advance of the workshop.
