Measures for Justice is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to developing tools and services that help communities, including the institutions that serve them, reshape how the criminal justice system works. Since 2011, we have been collecting, standardizing, and publishing criminal justice data to increase transparency, accessibility, and accountability. We’re leading a movement to change the future of criminal justice.
Role Overview
As the Project Manager II/III at Measures for Justice, you will lead and manage critical technical projects through the full project management lifecycle. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive the planning, execution, and delivery of projects that align with organizational goals. You will also implement project management best practices, focusing on process improvement and future scalability. Your contributions will be essential in maturing our project management function, ensuring we can deliver high-quality products that empower communities to reshape the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish and scale project management practices, tools, and processes for continuous improvement
- Lead technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring seamless integration with organizational objectives and delivery timelines
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient project execution, delivering solutions that meet stakeholder needs
- Develop and maintain project plans, balancing scope, resources, and timelines to meet objectives and ensure on-time delivery
- Identify potential project risks early, providing mitigation strategies and adjusting plans to avoid delays or setbacks
- Serve as the primary point of communication for project status, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed and aligned
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias
Your Experience
- Experience in process improvement, including developing and maturing project management functions and implementing best practices
- Proven experience managing technical projects in software development, IT infrastructure, or SaaS environments
- Strong experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban), including formal processes like chartering and artifact management
- Basic understanding of software architecture, APIs, cloud technologies, or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience applying ITIL framework best practices to technical projects
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms
- Strong experience guiding cross-functional teams through projects, driving alignment and accountability to achieve results
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at varying levels
Bonus Points
- Professional certifications (PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, etc.) or equivalent project management credentials
- Experience implementing best practices from the PMBOK Guide
- Professional experience in banking, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other heavily-regulated industries
