Data Systems Intern Save

Arkansas Foodbank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Systems Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in database management while contributing to meaningful projects that support our mission. This internship is a great opportunity to develop your skills in data systems while making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.

• Maintain a mySQL database to archive data from Oasis Insight Plus software data.
• Create tables and queries within the database to provide necessary data. 
• Create and maintain reports and visualization from data in database. 
• Assist with Service Insights Training as needed. 
• Troubleshoot data inconsistencies including duplicates and typos-working to address these issues at both the agency and Network level.
• Produce reports using data for a variety of stakeholders. 
• Work with the Data Manager to interpret data and present findings.
• Collaborate with the Data Manager and Data Systems Director to develop and implement exploration tools and dashboards.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings
• Stay informed about current issues, trends, policies, regulations, and other matters that may impact the Foodbank.

Requirements

The following qualifications are preferred for the candidate or employee, however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of Chief Information Officer. 

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science,  Management Information Systems, Business Technology or a related field at the time of the application.
• Familiarity with mySQL preferred
• Ability to recognize and address issues as they arise, solve problems effectively, and evaluate results to improve project performance.
• Ability to identify business reporting needs, communicates requirements clearly, and create plans that build trust with stakeholders. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners 

Salary Description: 16.00/hour
