Blue Tiger is looking for a full-time Senior Healthcare Data Analyst to join our talented team of technologists.

For this role, you will work with federal government employees, designers, and technologists to design and create digital content for public use and benefit.
As a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst, you will work closely with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to transform the Medicaid Drug Program (MDP) product suite. This product suite helps ensure that individuals with low-income and children in need of healthcare insurance receive affordable access to medication. The MDP product suite provides federal and state governments with critical data to negotiate better drug prices and provide transparency in drug costs to the public.

Requirements
What you’ll do
- Write and refine queries, scripts, and procedures to extract data
- Perform complex data analysis on structured and unstructured healthcare data; develop deep, data-informed understanding of user problems to support product development
- Evaluate datasets to advise on whether data is relevant and appropriate for AI/ML solutions: examine the overall data quality, understand the methodology used to collect and maintain the data, and identify and document any limitations
- Write and review data analysis code, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and maintainability
- Mentor junior data analysts on data and programming best practices
- Engage with coworkers across disciplines according to Agile and Scrum methodologies, including participating in planning, breaking down requirements into tasks, refinement and estimation, etc.
- Articulate benefits and risks associated with different technical approaches
- Represent Blue Tiger's culture of delivery when interacting with government stakeholders and other contractors
What we’re looking for
- At least eight years of experience working as a data analyst on products with significant data requirements
- Proven experience performing data analysis with open-source programming languages
- Expertise working with modern data modeling frameworks and libraries
- Expertise working with APIs and databases of various types, like Dynamo, Postgres, NoSQL, etc.
- Proficiency with data manipulation and analysis using data-centric programming languages like Python, SQL, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL knowledge, including DO blocks, functions, DDL, DML, triggers, and constraints
- Understanding of good database hygiene to ensure smooth administration and repeatable functions, roles, and procedures
- Knowledge of how to leverage the command line via shell scripting
- Knowledge of how to deliver polished, scalable, maintainable, performant code using Git and GitHub
- Expertise in data governance principles including tools and best practices for ensuring data privacy
- Expertise with data modeling techniques across multiple database technologies
- Familiarity with data-layer AWS resources like RDS and Aurora
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts and present data findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience in digital services, government, federal consulting and/or working with healthcare data in a federal environment
- Experience working within a scrum/agile development methodology and environment
- Experience working in a remote environment

Benefits
The salary for this position is $140,000 - 170,000.
