Full-Stack Engineer
Paradigm Case Management · Remote
About the Role
Paradigm is hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to help build our core product and grow with our engineering team. You’ll be working across the stack, contributing to our FastAPI backend and Next.js frontend. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your skills and branch into areas like infrastructure, AI, data pipelines, or DevOps. We want to work with you and help you grow in the areas that excite you most as we build this application from the ground up.
Responsibilities
-
Product Development: Build, test, and improve our platform using Python (FastAPI) and Next.js.
-
Collaboration: Work with product designers, data engineers, legal experts, and AI/infrastructure specialists to shape features that meet real user needs.
-
Growth: As we scale, carve out a specialization that matches your tech passion, whether that’s product development, UX/UI, DevSecOps, or AI.
Who You Are
We are looking for a thoughtful engineer who wants to build things that matter and is excited to grow with an ambitious, collaborative team.
Important Note: We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every listed qualification. That said, we do highly value at least 2 years of real-world experience with both Python backend development and Next.js. If you bring deeper experience and would be a better fit for a slightly more senior role, we’d love to hear from you too.
Eligibility: For compliance, this role is currently limited to U.S. citizens who are currently residing in the United States.
Qualifications
-
4+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development, including at least 2 years of on-the-job experience with both Python and Next.js.
-
Experience building and using REST APIs with authentication (OAuth or JWT)
-
Exposure to containerized development (Docker), GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing practices
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in async or remote environments
-
Willingness to learn new tools, contribute to team culture, and take ownership of your work
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)
If you’ve worked with any of these before, that’s great, but if not, we’ll help you learn:
-
UI frameworks (Tailwind/Shadcn)
-
AWS services (S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
-
Security best practices in cloud environments or compliance-heavy industries
-
Applied LLMs or other AI systems in an industry or research setting
-
Familiarity with criminal justice systems, government software, or legal tech
