Position Overview

The objective of this position is to provide computer end-user support and technical assistance to Food Bank staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the set-up and support of staff computers, printers and projectors; installation, diagnosis of software and hardware problems, preventive maintenance, upgrading, and repairing to provide optimal performance for users.

 

Relationships

Reporting to the Director of IT, this position is highly visible and works to support all departments at CTFB requiring extensive interaction with and service to the greater organization. This position also works with external stakeholders to include third-party support services. The IT Coordinator must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment in their work and work effectively across organizational lines. This role does not supervise other team members.

 

Requirements

 

Your Qualifications

· Three or more years of IT support, or IT operations experience in a business environment (non-profit experience a plus)

· HS diploma required

· Strong knowledge of Windows operating system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

· Working knowledge of cloud platform administration and security (ex. Microsoft 365)

· Must possess strong customer service and interaction skills and a willingness to assist staff that represents a varied level of computer skills

· Ability to quickly and independently understand new technology, then provide support and consultation on usage of new technologies

· Must be able to verbally convey complex communications to individuals and groups in a clear and non-technical manner

· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and work cooperatively with staff, volunteers and clients

· Self-directed and able to report activity to supervisor

· Strong organizational skills and able to organize reports in a clear and concise manner

· Must be able to handle and protect confidential information

 

Your Responsibilities

 

· Plan and manage the installation, upgrade, repair, movement, and replacement of Food Bank computers and peripherals

· Support all Food Bank business application software including SAAS and mobile device applications

· Provide primary support for the Food Bank day-to-day technical issues

· Provide for the check in/out of Food Bank owned computer related equipment such as laptops and projectors

· Support and deploy various wireless devices, including smartphones and tablets

· Manage network and desktop support tools as well as IT automation initiatives

· Support remote users and infrastructure at offsite locations

· Provide training and/or overviews to new and existing staff on IT programs, applications and security awareness

· Maintain an up-to-date inventory of assets, usernames, license keys, passwords, and other information vital to the IT department and organization

· Maintain regular data backups and complete restoration tasks when necessary

· Act as a liaison between third-party support services and staff as needed.

· Work with outside vendors to resolve issues with services or equipment

· Support VoIP phone system

· Manage Active Directory users and groups

· Manage Microsoft Exchange mailboxes and distribution groups

· Ensure overall infrastructure health including phones, LAN and WAN

· Recommend new hardware and software solutions to benefit the Food Bank operations and missions

· Assist in the preparation of reports, data gathering, and completion of goals, metrics and deadlines.

· Commit to supporting CTFB’s mission, vision, values, and culture

· Perform additional duties as necessary and/or requested.

 

Summary

Working Conditions

· Hours of Operation: Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., some evening and weekend hours may be required, especially during peak times, disaster response, or holidays

· Environment: This position works in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Occasional work will occur in a warehouse setting. The position also requires working independently and with others on a team.

· Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.
